Pretty City
I love Calgary, man. I just really, really like it as a city. It’s big (population- and area-wise), and I always like the business of a big city (especially downtown) but there are also a lot of places you can go where it feels like you’re living in a small little town.
It’s also great to walk around the city (in the places where there are sidewalks). I’ve been utilizing the paths down by the river a lot recently, and I really just like the feel of everything going on down in that area. It feels like home.
Here’s a video of time lapse footage of parts of the city. Tell me Calgary isn’t beautiful.
I’m so excited to have found the love of my life here. I look forward to spending a long, long time in this city.
(It’s hard for me to say “the rest of my life” with respect to staying in one place, just because I’ve moved around so freaking much. But that’s ultimately what I’d like, I think.)

Not saying that this is 5-star material, but if it’s not, it’s really damn close.

Back to Calgary
I left Moscow this morning to head back to Calgary. Didn’t feel like I got enough time here, but I feel guilty just ditching Nate for X number of days to go frolic* in the ‘Scow. But I also feel guilty about leaving my mom all alone down there.
And now I’m feeling guilty because approximately 95% of my blog posts are garbage, including this one.
YAY GUILT!

ALRIGHT, SO.
Tonight I was listening to some Aaron Copland, ‘cause Copland’s awesome. Specifically, I was listening to Hoedown on repeat for about a half an hour. Some of you may know it better as “the beef song”:
Anyway, awhile back, Nate and I had either seen the name of this song somewhere or had heard a reference to it, and when I referred to it as “the beef song,” he didn’t know what I was talking about (‘cause apparently it’s only ‘Murican beef that’s for dinner). So tonight when I had finished listening to it for like the tenth time, I let him have a listen and told him again that this was the beef song. He mentioned that he thought he’d heard this somewhere before. After a quick YouTube search, it turns out that a very similar song was in Fieval Goes West!
This song was actually composed by James Horner (RIP); apparently he took Copland’s Hoedown and kind of remixed/remade it to fit the movie.
Pretty awesome if you ask me.

Rage Quit
So thanks to Nate listening to the playlist of Michael’s Rage Quit on YouTube, I’ve been listening to my favorite old Rage Quits all day at school. So I’ll put them all here, ‘cause even though I’ve mentioned most (all?) of these in my blog at some point, it’s nice to have everything together. And I haven’t mentioned any Rage Quits in a while.

So this week has been awful.
But luckily I have a ridiculously incredible fiancé who picked up some super colorful flowers for me on his way home from work today, just because he knows things have gone south for me over the past few days and he wanted to show he cares.
I can’t wait to marry this man.

- I had a scintillating scotoma migraine this morning. It’s been awhile since I’ve had one of those.
- I want you all to hear 2016’s first five-star song. It’s incredible.
