High School Color Fun

Let’s time travel back to high school for a moment, shall we? I had this book (well, I guess, I technically still have it, haha) called “The Dewey Color System” by Dewey Sadka. It’s a personality test book that tells you about yourself based on the combination of your favorite primary color and favorite secondary color (with more info based on how you feel about other colors like black, white, gold, teal, etc.).

I was obsessed with this book and made everyone I know take the test (which is just, again, picking your favorite primary color and your favorite secondary color).

Here is said book:

06-17-2019-a

As you can see by how beat up it is, I used it a lot. I actually did a “stats” project in my 11th grade psych class where I looked at the frequencies of people’s personality types with the Dewey Color System and compared them to the frequencies of their Myers-Briggs personality types. Of course, I knew ZERO about stats at the time so I was just comparing the frequencies without any sort of test of statistical significance, but I did go back to the data a few years ago and tried to chi-square the hell out of it for funzies.

[Edit: I can’t find that blog for whatever reason, but it’s out there.]

Anyway. I think the test and results used to be online for free, but now it looks like you have to pay. SAD! That was the whole point of this blog, haha.

Edit again: alrighty, found the blog in question. Looks like I didn’t do anything that looked at Dewey vs. Myers-Briggs…just Myers-Briggs-related stuff. I wonder if I can find my data anywhere?

Edit again again: No data on both tests, but I did (of course) write down some of the results of the Dewey test in the front cover of the book. All those letter combinations at the top are the combos of favorite primary (Blue, Red, Yellow) and secondary (Green, Orange, Purple). The letters at the bottom are representing the six “intermediate” colors for which people were supposed to choose two as their favorites and two as their least favorites (Gold, Indigo, Lime, Magenta, Red-orange, Teal).

Also, my grades in high school were abysmal.

Algebra: my worst enemy in high school. Also, how the hell does one get a C in Wellness?

GUSH

I was BORED OUT OF MY MIND today and decided to take a few character alignment tests.

I seem to be very consistently Lawful Neutral.

Lawful Neutral
A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. The common phrase for lawful neutral is “true lawful.” Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.

excerpt from the Player’s Handbook, Chapter 6

Here’s a long one that tells you even more!

Lawful Neutral Human Druid/Sorcerer (2nd/2nd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 13
Dexterity- 12
Constitution- 16
Intelligence- 16
Wisdom- 12
Charisma- 10

Alignment:
Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

Race:

Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:

Druids- Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid’s Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Secondary Class:

Sorcerers- Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

RRRRRRRRRR

Ha, remember that Global Advanced Personality test that I used to take like twice a year? It’s been like three + years since I last took it. So let’s take it again and compare it to the last time I took it to see how much I’ve changed into a responsible, level-headed adult.

Ye Olde (September 2014)

Ye Newe (Now)

Hahaha, my “adventurousness” went up. Livin’ on the edge.

I before E, Except after WEEEE!

I took a thing.

6% on Warmth? Ouch. That’s…cold.

Also, Anxiety should be at like 200%.

Do auditioning court jesters have to provide a portFOOLio?

Hey so remember that Advanced Global Personality Test I take like twice a year?

Remember how I keep forgetting to do that twice a year?

WELL I DID IT NOW NOT THAT ANYBODY CARES HURHURHUR.

sds

Trait snapshot (bold ones are ones I agree with): neat freak, organized, worrying, phobic, fears the unknown, irritable, pessimistic, emotionally sensitive, fears chaos, risk averse, fragile, unadventurous, depressed, frequently second guesses self, does not like to stand out, perfectionist, hard working, likes to be alone, clingy, dependent, practical, cautious, takes precautions, good at saving money, suspicious, busy, altruistic

Are Leibniz’ fingerprints the best of all possible whorls?

So remember how I was retaking this test twice a year, once in April and once in September? I think I totally forgot about it for the past two years. But today, for whatever reason, I remembered the test and decided to do it. SO HERE YOU GO.

b

My results are a lot more polarized than they used to be. Ch-ch-ch-changes…

Is the National Hunters Association considered a “hunter gatherer”?

A Big Five-type test: http://www.signalpatterns.com/personality_survey

Haha. Well. We know what I am, don’t we? I’m surprised I have an “Assertive” circle at all.

“Responsible”, “Buttoned-Down”, “Astute”, “Competent.” I sound like the most boring person ever.

Also, “Excitable” + “Passionate” = me spazzing about R.

Blah, nervous about tomorrow.

Post New Add

HA I didn’t forget. I thought I would.

Hahaha, polarized results much? I’m strange.

Trait snapshot: depressed, introverted, neat, needs things to be extremely clean, observer, perfectionist, not self revealing, does not make friends easily, suspicious, irritable, hates large parties, follows the rules, worrying, does not like to stand out, fragile, phobic, submissive, dislikes leadership, cautious, takes precautions, focuses on hidden motives, good at saving money, solitary, familiar with the dark side of life, hard working, emotionally sensitive, prudent, altruistic, heart over mind, unadventurous

Fail me not, WordPress, and let me post!

This was always one of my favorite theories of personality for some reason.

Hahaha, I’m so pathetically not assertive.

I actually don’t know if this is the right test…it seemed a lot shorter this year.

Anyway. Because I’ve done it like 6 times before.

DNA

I could have sworn I’ve done this before, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. So here it is!
Generous Dreamer
You are a Dreamer
Your combination of abstract thinking, appreciation of beauty, and cautiousness makes you a DREAMER.
You often imagine how things could be better, and you have very specific visions of this different future.
Beauty and style are important to you, and you have a discerning eye when it comes to how things look.
Although you often think more broadly, you prefer comfort to adventure, choosing to stay within the boundaries of your current situation.
Your preferences for artistic works are very refined, although you vastly prefer some types and styles to others.
Though your dreams are quite vivid, you are cautious in following up on them.
You are aware of both your positive and negative qualities, so that your ego doesn’t get in your way.
A sense of vulnerability sometimes holds you back, stifling your creative tendencies.
Your independent streak allows you to make decisions efficiently and to trust your instincts
You are balanced in your approach to problem-solving, not letting your emotions hold you up.
You much prefer to have time to plan for things, feeling better with a schedule than with keeping plans up in the air until the last minute. Your decisions are well thought out, and you’re not the least bit impulsive.
You do your own thing when it comes to clothing, guided more by practical concerns than by other people’s notions of style.
You are Generous
Your awareness of those around you, along with your nuanced perceptions of the world at large, makes you the GENEROUS person that you are.
You value time to yourself and understand how rich your private world can be—you know that you don’t have to go wild to have a good time.
You are excited and energized by ideas and often enjoy things more through observation than through experience.
This tendency gives you an appreciation for different perspectives and opinions about the world.
Being as aware of others as you are doesn’t mean you find it easy to trust them immediately—this is something that happens more slowly for you.
Despite this, you are aware of the complexities of many situations and are reluctant to pass judgments on others.
Although you have fewer friendships than some people, those that you have are meaningful and are important to you.
You value spending time alone—it is while reflecting on the world around you that you often learn something new about yourself or begin to understand something that’s been bothering you.

I call your number but I can’t get through…

It’s that time of the year again! Hooray for retaking personality tests.

There’s also my trait snapshot: neat freak, organized, worrying, phobic, fears the unknown, irritable, pessimistic, emotionally sensitive, fears chaos, risk averse, fragile, unadventurous, depressed, frequently second guesses self, perfectionist, hard working, practical, ordinary, cautious, takes precautions, good at saving money, suspicious, mind over heart, busy, altruistic.

The things we do when we’re given messenger and free time…

Hooray!

So Sean gave me two projective personality tests tonight. One I’d taken long ago (so I question my answers a bit because I had the old template still in my head), but the other was new. I’ll just give you my results, just in case you ever take the tests, ‘cause I don’t want to skew yours.

Onward (these are in Sean’s words, by the way):
~I don’t see a lot of value in the status quo
~Anything noteworthy must be done, not discovered
~I have an artistic, visionary personality; I feel unique but a little disjointed from my surroundings
~I have a fairly broad group of friends; my friends are there, but not “inside” my circle
~my idea of what I want in a romantic partner is un-developed. Right now I don’t have a template, so at the moment “lover” is just a special case of “friend”
~I don’t see difficulties as being added factors, just the normal surroundings “flaring up.” I feel like I can weather the difficulty
~My material possessions are decorative and aesthetic, and they’re important to me
~Knowledge is important to me (but it doesn’t open anything…long story)
~I feel like things will block my path that I have no way of defeating, but they can be circumnavigated
~My love life is “big and scary.” I go in prepared and try to keep myself as safe as possible from getting pulled under
~I hide from danger until it goes away, but I try to approach with a solution as custom-tailored as possible

Hooray for early morning conversations!
