POKE
Man, I wish Pokemon Go had been able to read your phone’s health app data from the very start, because now I’m getting these kind of results:

Which is great for hatching eggs and acquiring buddy candy.
Anyways.
Edit: prof, u ok?

Oh, The Sims…
HAHAHA, oh my god.
“Put ‘em in the Fun Pit.”
“Go back to Thanos. See what he’s up to. Oh, he’s playin’ football!”
I like to think this is how they storyboarded Infinity War.
Pokemens
Hahaha, these are fantastic. I’m assuming “Canada” is the next Pokemon region, right?
More Spokane
I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS, TOO
So when we were in Spokane, we also happened upon this:

This is Mille Bornes, a game that we used to play with my grandma and grandpa back when I was in like 4th grade or so.
The box is all updated and modern, but the cards are the same “old” style. They just don’t have the French on them anymore.

Basically it’s like a card racing game: you want to be the first to get to 200 miles. You get certain distance/mileage cards, hazard cards to give to others, and safety cards to protect against hazard cards or to undo their effects. I remember it being very fun. If you ever see it, you should get it and try it!
Hahaha, nice
This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
The beard suits her, haha.
I never thought I’d love having my own virtual heavy truck but HERE WE ARE
I just spent $49,000 to further customize and upgrade my truck in ETS2. It’s super awesome now.
(Yes, I’m still obsessed with this game)
Euro Truck Simulator 2, aka The Best Game Ever
Read the title.
You: “A trucking simulator? Really?”
Me: “Really.”
You: “But that sounds boring.”
Me: “SORRY, I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER MY SCANIA”

It’s very fun. Very relaxing. I delivered beets to Kiel. I only crashed into a few cars. Europe has too many roundabouts.
Have a video! Not mine, obviously.
Super fun, seriously.
Edit: SCREW YOU AND YOUR BACKWARDS WAYS, ENGLAND! SCREW YOU SCREW YOU SCREW YOU
Rock Band Songs: The Good Ones
Hello.
So Nate and I have been playing Rock Band incessantly (baseball is over, what the hell are we supposed to do with our evenings??) and there are a lot of good songs on Rock Band 4.
Like, more than I was expecting.
Faves:
You Make Loving Fun by Fleetwood Mac
All Over You by LIVE
Mainstream Kid by Brandi Carlile
Light Up the Night by The Protomen
My God is the Sun by Queens of the Stone Age
Milwaukee by The Both
The Impression That I Get by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
I Will Wait by Mumford & Sons
I am Electric by Heaven’s Basement
(I like to think of this as Emo Jesus’ anthem.
I am the savior, I am the savior, I am the savior, I am the savior!
Watch me rise / on the third day I will blow your mind! Etc.)
Good songs, yo.
Watch Over
Nate has gotten me into Overwatch, because I’m always all about a good FPS and the game looks interesting on its own. I have like zero time to do anything but walk and frantically churn out school stuff right now, but we’ll see how things go once I get a chance to get into it!
Edit: my favorite is Pharah. Thrusters!
Edit 2: I’m so freaking bad at this. It’s just like everything else I do!
Edit 3: new favorite: Roadhog. Pig dude + shotgun-like weapon? I’ll take it.
Pokemon babies?!?!
AAAAAAAAAAA THERE ARE POKEMON BABIES NOW CATCHABLE IN POKEMON GO
I WANT A CLEFFA

LOOK AT THAT ADORABLE LITTLE NERD
CAPS LOCK
HAHAHA THIS IS GREAT
Welcome to Half-Life.
I laugh because he made a lot of obvious mistakes/missteps, but I guess if you’re someone who hasn’t played 600 hours* of Half-Life, those mistakes/missteps might actually not be so obvious.
*It’s an estimate, but it’s probably a conservative estimate. I’ve played a lot of Half-Life.
Cat Collector
Okay, so I know I’m behind the times in this (most likely) because that’s just how I roll, but I just downloaded the cutest app: Neko Atsume!
You get a yard and some cat food and can use the food to entice cats to hang out in your yard. The cats show their gratitude by bringing you fish, which you can then use to buy all sorts of goodies to fill the yard and keep the cats coming.
There are a bunch of “regular” cats and then there are some rare ones that appear every once and awhile if you’ve got the right items in your yard.

Seriously. Is this cute or what?
You get a little album for each cat and if they enjoy your yard, you get a little memento from them.
FreeArcade Fire
I just realized that I still have freearcade.com in my bookmarks. Did you guys ever use freearcade.com? When I took typing in 7th grade, one dude in there would always visit there after he was done with his daily work (luckily our teacher was cool with this). He got us all addicted to it and we’d all work as fast as possible in order to get as much arcade time per day as we could.
My favorites:
- Fill It
- Wiz 3
- Javanoid (we were OBSESSED with this, holy crap)
- Pixie
Party time.
Clefairy and Clefable are the best so deal with it
I forgot to mention this yesterday, but THE POKEMON BUDDY SYSTEM IS OUT ASLDFJWEOIFJASDLF
Look at my super cute n’ pudgy Clefable. He’s the best. I’m going to have like 400 Clefairy candies in the next month, watch me.

(You get a candy each time you walk a kilometer with a Clefairy/Clefable.)
I like the sizes of some of the different Pokemon when compared to your avatar.

I really suck at titles, sorry
Pokemon Go is dying, you say?
Behold, Prince Island Park!

These pictures were taken last Sunday, not today, but still. Lots of people. 99% of them playing Pokemon Go. While I was setting my first lure module on a Pokestop, Nate and I saw a bunch of people sprinting over to a certain area of the park. Turns out there was a Nidoking there. Later, a bunch of people went sprinting off in search of an Omanyte.
This game is fantastic.
SPEAKING OF POKEMON GO…
Here’s a calculator that estimates how long it will take you to get to level 40. It does so by taking your current amassed XP and dividing it by the number of days you’ve been playing to find your average daily XP gain. Then it calculates how many days it will take you to reach the 20,000,000 XP needed for level 40, assuming you continue to gain your average XP every day.
Here’s mine, by the way:

Ouch.
Well, Niantic certainly built this game to last, haha. Look at that bar at the bottom, showing the “distances” between levels. Here’s a plot I made to further illustrate it:

The amount of XP needed to go from level 39 to level 40 is more than the amount of XP needed to go from level 1 to level 34. That’s awesome.
CleAwesome
Hot damn, I want one.
Super cute.
I may or may not be a little obsessed with Clefairy and Clefable right now. Blame the noises they make in Pokemon Go. And how soft and happy they look.

SUPER.
CUTE.
If variety is the spice of life, then GET ME OFF THIS FLAVOR TRAIN
So Pokemon Go is fantastic and you’re going to have to deal with me talking about it every once and awhile, ‘cause I enjoy playing it and so does Nate and we go on Pokemon-catching adventures ‘cause we’re Real Adults™ with Real Adult Responsibilities and Life Goals©.
Here are some pictures of Pokemon in random places!
Ghastly in the bathroom.

Caterpie in our living room.

Pidgey in the hallway in the math department.

And Pidgey on my textbook.

PIDGEY GO THE HELL AWAY I NEED TO WORK

A Zubat near the hospital.

OH AND I WAS A GYM LEADER FOR LIKE FIFTEEN MINUTES.
Nate and I are still pretty low level compared to a lot of people I’ve seen (give us a break, the game legally launched in Canada just a few days ago and we didn’t download an illegal version beforehand). In fact, we both just hit level 5, so we wanted to try out a gym.
We went walking around late tonight and eventually headed toward the gym at the hospital. It took us a few tries to finally figure out how things worked, but I eventually took control of the gym with my Staryu. Proof:

I got demolished very shortly after this by people who had MUCH stronger Pokemon, but hey, it was fun while it lasted, haha.
I love this game.
Edit: holy crap, the first egg I hatched gave me a Pikachu. Rockin’!
Pokemon GO?
More like Pokemon GO DOWNLOAD THIS APP IT IS SUPER COOL AND SUPER FUN AND IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME HERE’S A PICTURE OF MY FIANCÉ WITH A PIDGEY

(It’s dark in that picture ‘cause we were walking around until 11 PM catching Pokemon and being awesome)
Seriously, though. After a glitchy first few days, Pokemon Go is up and running (legally) in Canada. And you can tell. I took a walk down by the river today and there were literally groups of people wandering around searching for Pokemon to catch. I’ve heard people diss this game ‘cause it’s increasing the number of people staring at their phones while out in public, but really? The people out wandering around in the park are the same people you’d complain about never leaving the house. I really enjoy how there are already so many people just outside and playing this game. It makes me super happy.
I highly recommend giving it a play!
OH GOD I’M SO BAD AT THIS

I thought I was cool. I am not.
Pokemon
So Pokemon Go has been out for a little over a day now and I already want it. I hadn’t really been paying much attention to it before now, just because I thought it was just another “regular” Pokemon game (and in my opinion, nothing can beat Crystal) and because I basically have zero time to play any games (I say as I start a new Sim family).
But now that I’ve seen what it’s all about, I needs it. But it’s not even out in Canada right now, so I’ll just have to wait until Niantic decides that Canadians can be trainers, too.
(Hurry up, Niantic.)
BLACK MESA: The Update
THIS FREAKING GAME IS FANTASTIC.
I’ll post more about this when I don’t feel like crap (I’ve got a really bad headache right now), but here are some of the things that are great:
- Better graphics. WAY better graphics. Like, holy crapples.
- More diverse set of scientists. It’s not just the same three guys and a gaggle of their clones.
- The scientists/security guards are hysterically snarky towards Gordon. It’s fantastic.
- While most of the game is the same, there ARE some new/different parts, which is great because I’d basically memorized the original and could go through it quite easily.
- Gordon Freeman is still very much Gordon Freeman.
WOO!
BLACK MESA
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS
WHY THE HELL HAD I NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE?
Half Life is my favorite game, dudes. I want this.
Edit: Nate bought this for me. Nate makes bad life decisions.
Construction Complete
I am DONE with grandma’s house in The Sims! Finally!
The outside/front yard:

The dining room/kitchen:

Another shot of the kitchen:

The living room (and the other dining room past it):

The living room as viewed from the dining room:

The bottom floor:

And the bird’s-eye shots from above for each of the three floors, because getting good/close screenshots of every room in this house is impossible:

I miss you, grandma!
I’m ignoring yesterday’s events by playing The Sims
I HAVE AN IDEA!
Since both my grandpa and grandma on my dad’s side have passed away, my dad and my aunt/uncles have decided to put their California house up for sale.
This makes me super sad; I always liked grandma’s house—it’s huge and weird and has a pool—and given how often I’ve moved houses in my life, it was nice to know that that house would always be the same. But now it will soon belong to someone else.
SO, what I’ve decided to do is build the house as accurately as I can in The Sims, including accurate (well, as accurate as possible) furniture and décor and all that fun stuff. It’s going to take a while ‘cause that house is huge, but I’m going to do it! I’ll post screenshots here when I’m done (as if anyone cares).
