TWEETBALL 2023

It’s my wonderful husband’s birthday today, so what better day for the Twitter-based wrap-up of this year’s baseball season?

Baltimore Swag

So I’m going to count one of my previous marathons as my Baltimore Marathon run (unless I do one tomorrow), so here is said swag from the completion of the virtual Baltimore Marathon!

Shirt:
It’s nice to have one that’s long-sleeved. It’ll be nice in that “too cold for tanktop but too hot for jacket” weather.

Medal:
I had to take a video to demonstrate exactly how cool this medal is.

Done!

BOOST the ROOST

Got the most recent COVID booster! I was actually able to get it on campus this time, which was super convenient. Just scheduled it for 15 minutes after teaching in the morning. I’m writing this around 3 PM and am not having any side effects yet; maybe I’ll finally have a side effect-free shot!

Edit from later: NOPE! Around 8 PM or so, all my muscles and joints started to really hurt (this seems to be my typical side effect), especially the muscles in my torso. Breathing was so freaking painful, haha. The only way I could stop the pain was to just curl up under my heavy blanket and breathe very slowly. Luckily, I fell asleep and was mostly fine when I woke up several hours later.

Woo?

Done!

I officially completed my physical therapy today! Unless my leg really starts hurting again OR I do something else to get wounded, I am free!

I’m actually shocked at how good my leg is feeling. When this first happened, I was afraid that it would be a VERY long time before I could run without pain, let alone do a marathon.

There’s still some discomfort, especially in the mornings, but it’s a TON better than it was.

Shoutout to Brittney from Maximum Potential Physical Therapy! She was really great (and very patient with my lack of flexibility, haha).

Yay Rangers!

I didn’t really know anything about the Rangers before the playoffs, haha, just because the Mets very rarely play them. But they were a fun team to watch (and of course they have Scherzer and deGrom now). Adolis Garcia is great, too; it’s too bad he got injured and wasn’t able to play in this last game.
