Hey Moscow Nerds:
Do y’all remember Hastings? The store that sold books, games, movies, and miscellaneous other stuff and was in that weird little back building of the mall behind Macy’s?
I miss Hastings.
Back when I would go to the mall every Saturday with my dad, he’d give me $20 and set me free for an hour or so to get whatever I wanted to get. I’d usually end up at Hastings at some point during the hour, and while I rarely bought anything apart from used books (CDs were like $16.99 and that was a huge chunk of the $20), I always loved to look around at everything.
It’s too bad they died. Hastings was fun.
Palouse Mall needs more fun shops.
Siiiiiiiiigh…
I feel like crap today, so I went to Hastings to get some music. I bought a CD from a band called Statistics (for obvious reasons), and it’s actually not too bad. No Promises is pretty snazzy.
Sorry most of these have been so short. September’s always a month that drags (or sucks).
Ha ha!
So I went to Hastings today for the first time in a couple of weeks, and after looking through their pornography section I went back to the psychology section. I’m looking through the books, which have been rearranged according to specific subject (a change since I had last been there) and right under the “Coping with Paranoia” book was a little green sign Velcroed to the bookshelf: “You are under video surveillance”.
That cracked me up! Poor paranoids. I’m thinking someone should get that fired for that poor sign placement. Maybe I’ll write a little note about it and put it in their suggestion box.
Do they have a suggestion box?
I’m amused.
