I may have mentioned this video on here before, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never posted it or really talked about it. And I re-discovered it the other day, so here you go.
This nifty little song is called Prisecolinensinenciousol. Written by Italian Adriano Celentano, the song’s lyrics are total gibberish designed to sound like American English.
Catchy, ain’t it? I remember one spring when Nick and I would talk to each other in fake French we actually convinced some dude at Hastings that we were really speaking French. We’re bad people, oui?

Also, UI drama is happening because of my tuition waiver thingy. I had whole rant typed out but I deleted it because I’m trying to deal with frustration in a more constructive manner this year. That will probably end with me repressing everything because that’s just how I am, but what’re you going to do?

Paradise (Gabe Flaherty Remix) – Coldplay
Nnnnnnnnnnnnfff, this song. Paradise was this year’s version of Sleepyhead in that there were many remixes/mashups/alternate versions of the song downloaded. But this version? Holy crap. It actually has more plays than Sleepyhead as of my writing this (though that’s mainly because all my playcounts got reset at the beginning of October).
Madness – Muse
I think I nearly bludgeoned my eardrums to death with this song, as it practically begs to be cranked to 11 and then repeated half a dozen times. I’m liking Muse more and more these days; the fact that this song sounds so unlike all their other stuff thus far made me like both it and them much more.
Death Sentence Lost! (Coldplay vs. Dethklok) – …And Sushi! Productions
Dethklok? Yes! Colplay? YES! Mashed together?! HOLY CRAP! I still maintain that this is an incredibly soothing song; I listen to it when I’m stressed out. I think one of the coolest things I’m getting out of this project are mashups of songs that don’t sound like they’d mesh well but in actuality are quite perfect together (another example from last year: TiK ToK Together, a mashup of Ke$ha and The Beatles).
(Far From) Home – Tiga
The baseline of the chorus for this song makes me want to make sweet love to sound waves. This is another “bludgeoned your eardrums” song. It’s also short, so that actually kind of forces you to put this on repeat so you can get an adequate high from it.
Some Nights – Fun.
I discovered this song about three weeks before it really hit big and all the stations started playing it (haha, hipster much?); but actually, I’m glad it got pretty popular. I like being at the rec center and randomly hearing this song over the radio. Jazzes me up.

Dammit iTunes, stop screwing with my music! I have a delicate balance of lists and playlists and playcounts and I do not appreciate your “here’s a bunch of stuff you downloaded but deleted but here it is again in case you really weren’t serious about deleting it” crap that version 11.0 introduces. Now my master and 2012 playlists are all screwed up. It’s a good thing I keep backup lists of everything.

Well, I was going to do this on the 300th day of the year just to do it on an “even” day, but I totally forgot about it (It was the 26th of this month). So I’ll do it now.
Ignore this if you’re sick of hearing about my musical tastes.
As you know, I recently lost my music ratings and playcounts that have been adding up since 2006. Sad times! So I had to redo everything when I moved my music to Vaio III.
I’m really selective about which songs get five stars in iTunes. Regardless of the continual growth of my music library due to my 365 Songs project, I only allow myself to give 50 songs the rating of five stars.

Redefining
So I can’t REALLY complain about Vaio II losing his life. I mean, the dude lasted through the damp, dark hellhole that was Van Land for two years, plus being carted around North America a whole bunch of times.
Also, I saved about 98% of the stuff I had on him because his hard drive was too small for all my crap and I’d moved everything to an external a few months ago. So my stories, my pics, my music, my internet nonsense [AND MY BLOGS]…all saved.
So I really can’t complain.
But I’m going to anyway, because one of the things I DID lose was my playcounts for my songs. Which is a big deal for me, because I very often sort my songs by playcount and pretty much had a whole hierarchy going on where I defined my “top 50” songs by playcount.
Well, that’s all gone now, so next comes the arduous task of redefining my favorite songs.
That’s hard for me.
But exciting, too. I think with the nearly three years of downloading a new song every day, my musical tastes have evolved a bit. So things that were on my “favorites” playlist from before that may just have been on there due to past playcounts—even though I haven’t played them in months—have all been removed. Time to start anew!
Haha, I know none of you care, but this is pretty much the most exciting non-school-related thing to happen since September.
